API Quick Start
Connect a local Server, capture a Source, write explicit Memory, and read PreparedContext. No model is required.
These examples use current master and Bash. Windows support is experimental; see
installation and version requirements.
1. Install and start PowerContext
You need Python 3.11+, Git, and
uv.

2. Choose the application boundary
Create a stable Scope for one project or tenant and keep the returned Server-owned ID:

)"Your trusted application or Gateway must choose and authorize scope_id. It is a data partition key, not an access
control check. Never let model output select another user's scope or supply the Server token.
When Server authentication is enabled, keep the Bearer token in a secret store and expose it only to the trusted application process:

3. Complete the first context loop
Create powercontext_example.py in your application. This example uses only the Python standard library.

return status: "empty" and content: null; continue the model request without fabricated history.
The prepared content is ephemeral and read-only. Current user instructions, authorization, live system state, and fresh validation always take precedence.
The minimal Server uses full-text search. This example queries terms from the saved decision; configure vector search for semantic retrieval.
